2006 Commonwealth Games
Scimitar was chosen as the agency to produce Melbourne's bid for the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Arguably, the most important of all the Commonwealth Games Bid initiatives was the Bid Book itself.

Project details
The Bid Book was a deep green leather-bound tome featuring in great detail, the best of everything that Melbourne had to offer the world with regard to the upcoming Games. Wonderful photography, Maps, illustrations, and details of how and where every event would be hosted.
The book was divided into colour-coded sections, with tabbed dividers that each featured a hand-painted single word such as 'Smile, Enjoy, Passion, Excitement and Experience' superimposed over a montage of images relevant to that particular section.
The project required us to harness virtually every design discipline - from natural media illustration to web design, photo-retouching, video production, animation and cartography.
Spanning over three years, its success cemented Melbourne as a world player in the hosting of international events. As art director, designer, web developer and video editor, I played a key role in every aspect of the project.
